I need help deciding on one of two amps to drive my 6.5 fronts and my 6x9 rears, their 4ohm 100rms. I've been looking at the DSC4125 (120x4 @4) for $185 shipped and the DSC480 (80x4 @ 4) for $100 shipped. I like to have head room for clean power but I could really use the 85 in savings. Whats everyone's opinions? How do they compare in quality? I've heard good things about the 4125 but not much on the 480

Thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nerd.gif.c6fa51ddf7ff75f1c0371fbc648f70ae.gif

I have no clue in quality, but Type R speakers can handle more than rated, like their subwoofer counterparts, so I'd go with the 4125, it's tempting to save those extra bucks when you can use it, but you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you did it right the first time

...and someone will probably come along with a cheaper amp with close to the same quality (because someone always manages to)

Yea your right, do it right the first time. I was wondering if anyone knows if MB's baby a/b amps are just as bulletproof as their big brother mono's? Anyone running the 480? Anyone running the 4125, and do they like it?

Whats the specs on the ppi? The 4125 is (120x4 @ 4) (250x4 @ 2) (500x2 @ 2)... Needless to say its a lil pricey, but its got plenty of power at 4ohms and from what I hear its clean rated power but I like the versiitlilty over the DSC480. I can run 4 speakers, or 4 10's or two svc 4ohm 12's that i have ready to try out if I buy the amp just for the hell of it. I already have the DSC1500 and I would like to keap it clean so I think I'll just stay with MB Q... Thanks for trying to help though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif...

I havn't heard much of anything on the 480? Anyone have any experiance? Its for sale at caraudiodeals for 80 and I don't think they have many left. I know there out of class D DSC's and have been for at least 5months. I figure its cheap enough to try it. If I don't like it I'll use it w/ diff speakers or save for the 4125? Any opinions would be great other than just one. Thanks

I have been looking at the DSC 480's. They are cheap, there are better amps as far as SQ but I havent researched them too much to find and that are reasonable priced(since I have yet to try my old Memphis amp on the highs to see if its enough). But its hard to find an amp for under $100 new thats great.

For most though the MB Quart should be fine, if you have great musical ears then there's better but may cost you 2x as much or more
