Need Help Choosing A System

I'm new to this forum and I need some advice on building my system. Right now I've got a Grand Prix with a Kenwood Excelon HU (KDC-x469); Excelon 5.25 2-way speakers in the front doors; and Excelon 6x9 2-ways in the rear deck. It sounds good, its clear and has decent bass when turned up past 20, but anything below that it doesn't really have any bass. I'm looking for some great bass and better highs. I don't want bass that'll take your breath away, but something you can feel in the car. I'm thinking some 5.25 components in the doors powered by an amp. The rear 6x9's could probably be ran off the same amp as well. Maybe a 10" sub in the trunk ran off an amp of course. I'm planning on putting dynamat throughout the car (floors, walls, doors, etc.). What are you guys recommending to satisfy all of those needs? I've got a budget of about $800. I could install everything myself, its not that hard just time consuming. I don't plan on doing anything custom except mounting the tweeters for the front on the speaker grills. Let me know, thanks!

seems like youve got the right idea i suggest starting with a nice set of comps and an amp for the front stage.oh and read the sticky on how to properly deaden your doors.

Well, I've done some looking and here is what I came up with:

All that totals to about $780. With an amp kit (power, ground, signal, fuse, and signal cables), speaker wire (50 ft. 14 ga.) and shipping its about $895. What do you guys think?

look into the db drive platinum series for the speakers, for the amp also, subs i would recomend image dynamics
