hahha. if he gets performance i'd still be up on you, i got someone to buy the reference set //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif .

can i play this game too ?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif
It all started with my obsessant need to live vicariously through others by getting them to buy high end equipment that I want, but cannot afford. The Performance set is one such item, both because it can get the job done very nicely and because it is only 90% of it's everday price. I just get sick of the "best component recommendation" threads...so I figured I would begin my mission to end all such posts with a prepackaged Seas recommendation that is quick, easy and effective:furious:

So far, kenny has been successful at closing one Reference recommendation...little ****....only playin kenny;)

So, what's your record GSteg?

components you can't afford? you have the vandium line, dls a5, mb quart raa4200 and a zapco c2k amp along with an eclipse HU and can't afford the performance set? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Can, ya probably, but I love my Rainbows too much for the time being. And when you are a savvy shopper like me, you can run that set up for around $1500 (excluding wire, box, etc)//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

You do realize that the company selling the Dyn's is in Singapore, right:eyebrow:

[Where are we ? Strategic Location ! Singapore - free and busy port ensures economical and prompt delivery anywhere in the world. We are even more strategically located in Singapore - 53 Ubi Avenue 1 #03-03 Paya Ubi Industrial Park where consumers living in Singapore can reach us from major expressway.]

As far as other internet sites, not really sure...maybe woofersetc.com.

I would feel A LOT more comfortable buying from the guys at mobilesq.com than some company in Sinapore of all places....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif Not to mention that the Seas would come with a warranty, at least I'm pretty sure they would. Too much risk on the Dyns for me.

whoa. You're from london. I didn't realize that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i would do the id set up especially if you have an eq (pretty easy to broaden them with a 30 band) to me they are alot more dynamic than either the dls or dyns. when done right they have alot of energy which to me makes you forget you are listening to speakers.

I heard the DLS and S600s of Diamond....

the HEX´s sound better than DLS , they have a lot of power, lound and very very clean sound...

the DLS have a natural sound, but the mids are "extinguished" ... but with some tweaks, they sound better....

I never heard anything about Dyns (in car audio, in home its excelent) and ID

Seas have been producing loudspeakers since the middle 1920`s. so they arent exactly a newcomer in the business. they are also located in Norway, less than 300km away from where i am located.

I dont have any experience with ID, but a lot of good things have been said about them.

DLS UP series are supposely good, but personally i would go with the UR serie instead (or buy the orginal Morel stuff) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

Dynaudio are well known for high end gear and would probably be a good (but maybe pricey) choice
