NEED help, buick rendezvous wiring diagram

I have a 2003 buick rendezvous. I am trying to install my new alpine cda-9833 head unit. I bought it from crutchfield, so i called there for tech support. They said they couldnt help me because i didnt buy their safety door chime harness. I would just like to know what all the colors go to.

You need that harness.

But.. i think there is another harness that doesnt have the chime thingy

i realy need it?? I thought it just does door chimes... here is a pic both of the harnesses went to the stock radio I am an idiot and cut the one harness off.

Sorry, but yes that wasn't very smart. Now the harness won't really help you. It might have a wirering for it in a repair manual for your car at a local car stor, and it definitally will if you buy the shop manual. Only problem is that it would be a couple hundred bucks for the shop manual, look for it on ebay for maybe less money.

What does this safty door chime thing do? The chimes go to the stereo's speakers, and thats why it needs to go to the HU? If you want you could just put it though a small powered speaker or something stuck under the dash somewhere.

your screwed. Check http://www.installdr.com and see if they have the wiring diagram. But thats about all we can do for you. Nice one.

yep you need the harness its that expensive A$$ data retension harness that all new GM vehicles require, comes with a door chime,

no it does more than the door chimes, its like the THEFTLOCK thing on steroids. it sends the VIN number through the HU, with out it no HU will work,

not only is this a bad thing but i heard it is a federal offense. wire the harness back to factory, and get the $100 harness..

it also runs more then the door chime most of the cars computer is set by the factory head unit. in some cars the air bag system is also tied into the factory head unit.(good luck with your unit)
