Need Help Bridging Amp

[BassType-R]

I have a Alpine MRD-501 V12 amp running two 12 inch Alpine Type-R Subs (2ohms) and i was wondering if I should bridge my amp? I am practically new at learning about all these things. So if someone can help me decide and tell me exzactly what bridging my amp does and some stuff about it, it would be a big help thank you.

If I'm not mistaken, your amp is a mono amp, therefore not able to be bridged. I am unsure if it has two sets of speaker terminals, but if it does it is for only one channel. The channels are bridged internally. The two terminals are for easier sub hookup. To get optimal performance, you want to wire your subs at 2 ohms like this:
