Hey everyone im new this site also new to car audio . I really need help . Here goes . this is what i have installed in my truck . 2 Infinity Kappa 100.9w Subwoofer 2 infinity reference 1600a . Kenwood Excelon KDC-X492 deck . Now for my issue . I noticed that the lights on my head unit started to dim a little . I didn't think to much of it . I turned up the volume today and it shut down . It won't turn on . Could it be a fuse ? bad ground ? or is my head unit messed up ? . Any help or guidance in the right direction pleaseeeeeeeeee help .

what kind of truck, reason is b/c I know Dodge likes to use a ground strap on the factory head units and the installation plugs have a black wire that will connect but it's not truly grounded to anything. next check your fuse box to see if the radio fuse is blown or melted. once you eliminate those 2 things than you can dive deeper and take the head unit out, it should be simple and quick b/c Kenwood has sleeve keys to pull the head unit out the cage.

pull the deck and check fuse on the back. If you have a dmm check for power at the end of the harness that plugs into the kenwood. I would put money on it being a fuse of some kind.

what kind of head unit is it?

check the fuse like stated. if it checks out, check the ground wire. ground it out on a sturdy piece of metal behind the head unit
