SO I bought this 09 chevy (with 16000 miles), the original owner had put in a sound system. The dealer stated that the guy had taken out the Sub, and amp. He (The dealer) stated the old owner only left the wires in place.

Well, to my surprise when I look to see where the old one a placed I noticed the Amp still set up behind the Set. Well, not being a sound guy I have no clue what he did prior to taking out the Sub. I do have photos but it's of the Amps in place. To get a photo of the amps it's self I would have to take out the rear seat (09 extended cab 1500). I'm trying to do some research to see if I can find out what amp it is. I know one of the power wires is Kicker. So 1 of the power wires of to the head unit and the other I'm assuming the Amp.

The second problem is with the head unit. Whom ever put the Kenwood head unit in did not due it properly. One I have to turn the unit one by and after starting the vehicle and shut if off afterwords so I don't drain that battery. I need to fix that, second issue with the head unit is I can plug in my IPod and it will show the songs playing (including count down on time), but you can not hear the music. When I plug the IPod in the AUX port I can hear it just fine.

Looks like maybe 2 amps, the JL looking one then on the left something w/ a black brushed finish (Kicker maybe). Fold the seat back down or whatever you have to do & lets see what you got.

OP, what's your goal with the amp, are you going to add a sub back in or are you looking to yank it all out?

The HU problem is fairly simple. I'd imagine it was wired incorrectly. Sounds like the wire that's suppose to control it turning off and on was wired to a power line that's always on, instead of to a power source controlled by the ignition switch.

Yes, I plan on putting a Sub back on the Amp...I maybe a country boy but I love the sound a sub puts out, brings country to a new level. So, now I need to figure out why it's not working. I think I need to take the seat out and get better photos of the amp(s), I will have to look at the Boston Acoustics GT-4100 to see how it hooks up. I will then look up the HU and see how it's suppose to be wired up and the pull that out so I can figure that on out as well. Thank guys, for the help. Like I stated before this is an 09 Chevy 1500 Extended cab, so I'm not looking for anything big. I was thinking a 8' or 10". I think the 8" will be plenty for what I want it for. I may at some point have a custom box made to fit the floor and protect the sub.

Also, the second amp( if that's what it is) has the phone wire. I know it goes to a Kicker bass adjustment knob.
