so i bought a switch for my amp. i want to be able to signal it when to be on and off.

well theres three prongs. it looks like a normal Plug ( so to say) and one extra Under the right side one.

now one is supposed to be ground, power, and of course, toggle.

so, would i wire one to the battery? headunit?

ground, i got handled.

and one to the amp? correct?

ahh so i see. but by doing it independtly of the headunit, i can then turn on and off at will. well that seems better to me.

and the 1v not so important.

the stock remote wire i had was probably 22 gauge.. i just bought some heftier 16 gauge to run it in. because i always feel too fradgile with it.

its also a touch pad switch, which is really different.

i'm interested to see how the voltage is lost. i think i know why, but i would like to read it instead.
simple, turn your car in the on position (not started) check the remote wire voltage. should be about 10-11 volts.....while the power should read 12-13 volts

now turn the car on (started) and check the remote wire voltage, should be around 12-13 volts.... while the power should read 13-14 volts.

the signal from the HU is always about 1 full volt less for whatever reason i dont know but if you wire it to the battery instead of the HU the remote wire will read that extra volt. it will read whatever your battery is at. its not much but for a competitor such as myself its good for the tenths chasers lol.
