Need headunit, amp, subwoofer(s)

I would like to do this right the first time. What is a decent headunit, a Good amp, and a Good sub. I'd like something with some serious bump. $700 price point to do this sound reasonable?

Budget is ok. Remember you will need an amp wiring kit and probably some sound deadener. Also, what vehicle, musical tastes?

96 chevy lumina. The old ***** has 140,000 miles on her and no idea when or how she will die. I'm thinking something basic like leave the 4 speakers that are in it and then just change out the head unit, and put in a dedicated amp to run one or two larger subs in the trunk?

I listen to a wide variety but I'm thinking of doing this for bass nectar (dubstep) and for a bit of rap.

The car can shake itself to pieces for all I care as well.

What is sound deadener?

Sound deadener reduces the vibration created by the woofers/speakers. Also makes the subs sound cleaner because you can't hear the rattle of your trunk/roof etc.

Look in the classifieds for a decent hu with a high preout voltage. Eclipse would be your best bet for cheap.

Subs.. you can try.. SSA , Skar , Obsidian Audio , Sundown Audio... or check the classified always can find something in there.

I have a Clarion HU CZ300 that is approx 2 weeks old, that Ill let go shipped for $100 bucks,Just didnt like it, and the functions were off for me..guess Im not up to par with all the new stuff..PM me, and Like I said..Its like BRAND new!! As for subs, That Bang, and on a budget, that will leave you plenty of funds for amps ect..I recommend a pair of Lanzar Max Pro 10s..Great banging subs for under $100 bucks! 600rms DVC4ohm and they BANG! Ive had a couple sets,and gave to my Knephew, and still banging them @ 1ohms in a Scion coupe.2yrs now
