need effecient amp ?whats my options

Have you ever owned a Jl1000 and then switched to an actual efficient amp ? .. Id guess no . Ive owned both amps and the AQ shits on the Jl when it comes to efficiency . Not saying the Jl isnt a good amp . Dont get me wrong , but the OP is looking for an effecient amp . Jl amps are power hungry compared to other amps in their power range ..
same power 1.5-4 ohm nominal

with the current being anywhere between 11-16 volts

thats pretty dam efficient

current and voltage are not the same thing

the efficiency that they are talking about is how good is the amp at coverting amperes to wattage. The JL amps are in the mid 60% range were the sundowns, RD Audios, RF t series etc are in the mid 80% efficiency. More efficiency=Less Current/More Watts

Clarion 11500d's or now what they call 11550d I believe. I have some of the older ones and I compete in meca and in testing I have found these amps to generate the most score off of the least amount of fusing. I burp four of them daisy chained at 2 ohm off 50 amps all day. Rated for 1500 rms at 1 or 2ohm the new ones say only 2 ohm but it is the same board same amp just different case. posted 150 + at the head with two 12's. I like them alot. others I would chose would be the sundowns the 3000's are **** good with fuse. That would be a little much so saz 1500 would be my next choice. Only reason JL is not on my list is because I fell that there is better for cheaper.

is there an effecient amp that wont draw to much amperage or voltage and put out 1000 -15000 rms...i had my orion 2400 in my honda and the alt cant keep up,,, volts would drop to mid 10's low 11's on low notes!!!!!!but i love the power, i dont want to put batterys or ho alt..so whats my options out there,,,so right now i have a interfire 900 which i believe does 500 rms..? sounds good but my electrical can take more,,volts dont get below 13
CrossFire VR1000D will do around 1300 Watts rms @ 14 volts.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif
