need another sub, but which one???

i was bumpin ther other day, and all the sudden i smelled a voice coild and before i could even turn it down the sub was done, blown it. it was a audiopipe txx be15 at 2 ohms on a apk 15001d, big 3 2 batteries all ran with 2/0 gauge wire. now im left with my pro v 15 interfire, can someone help me with a box design for max spl in a 2000 malibu must be in the trunk. or could i take my junk 2.6 cube prefab box change the front to a 12" cut out and bump with a single 12? would this be louder considering my limited space? i only wanna spend 300ish for a sub, and 2.6 cube shud be aa plenty for a single 12 shouldnt it? most only call for 1.5 to 2

and should i run a 12 or stick with a 15, i wanna tune the box around 25 to 28 hz

im just using the 2.5 as a temp box till i decide to stop being lazy and build atleast a decent box, but i was reffering to the 2.5 as being big enough for most single 12s but not 15s. i just want a loud single sub spl system, a local shop wants me to run a addictive audio v4 but its 400 dollars, i could def get better for that price, but in the end the question is will a normal 12 or 15 like to get down at mid 20s hz before cabin gain?

So shop wants you to run that for them..but no hook up on price? I second the HDC3 12.. sick 12 right there.

would a hdc3 12 work well in a box thats 7 cubes before port, tuned down to 27hz, or would you guys reccomend, tuning round 35 which wud prob put me at 45ish after cabin gain?

Used, It was just reconed by team PSI. We have tested it and it works great.
