They're rated at 1000rms each.

That just means that they can handle 1k, it doesn't mean that they need 1K. IDMax's can work very well with 400-500w RMS, and many times that's all that is needed on them.

^^^^I agree- a subs peak rms rating is a thermal rating(how much wattage the voile coil can handle) by not mean does it indicate thats what the sub needs to perform its best- in most applications 50-70% of a subs rms rating is more than enough to drive the sub properly and achieve best sound
