I wanted to use 4 Gauge power wire for my amp but the amp says it has an 8 gauge terminal. Here is pic of the terminal, can someone tell me if I could fit a 4 gauge wire here or not? (I don't want buy it then find out I can't use it cause it won't fit.)

ok after reading the cheap 5 page manual that cmap with the amp it say to use an 8 gauge or lower power wire. in a diagram in the manual it even shows and names a 4 gauge as the power wire. So now i am all **** confused!

What size wire can i use here? If i can use 4 i'd prefer too.

it's an earthquake xtreme 900w.5 it's a 5 channel 1800w max amp. got it as a gift. Seems pretty **** heavy and beefy.

My dilemma is people have told me that with the rated 900w rms i should def use 4 ga and not 8ga. Though if the treminal is 8ga and i cannot fit 4ga where does that leave me? This is my first time installing an amp so i'm a bit confused. I;ve read many guides and confident i can install it easy enough, i just want to do it right the first time and not have to change stuff down the road or waste money buying the wrong wires or equipment.

if i were you i would get 4 ga. if you cant fit it in, then try trimming it just a little. and maybe eventually you will upgrade your amp and you will be set with the 4ga. or if you get a amp that can fit 0/1 you can use the run of 4ga for a 4channel amp to run your mids/highs

Would this product work for me? http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KNF-12

Is it safe to assume usign that I could run 0/1 gauge power wire from the battery into a fuse then 0/1 gauge from the fuse to the trunk and into that and run a short 1 foot 8 gauge into the amp? If that woudl work i'd rather do that so i can wire up the 0/1 gauge and in the future not have to worry about redoing anything.

so run a 4ga from the distro block to the amp but use a 4 to 8 reducer?

I seen the reducers but the ones i seen have a pin on the end. that pin can go into the amp and still work? not familiar with how to properly use the reducer
