Need amp/sub combo suggestions

I am looking to put a system into my Mazda RX-8 and I was wondering what to get. I have limited space so I most likely will have to go with a 10"

I basically want to spend around $400-$450 on sub/amp combo.

I will be doing install and enclosure. I'm thinking about a $40 for wiring (4guage), and then $30-$40 for wood to make enclosure and amp rack so the leaves $400 for sub/amp. Does not need to be a $200/$200 split. I want SQL but have enough power to turn up the bass when I want to.

In my old car I had two e15K's (sealed and then ported) @ 1000W and a 12W7 (ported) @ 750W so I am used to some high powered systems.

Any suggestions is welcomed.

I found a deal on a used RE SE12 and a Cadence Z5000 amp for $330. Good deal? how would that sound?

What gauge amp kit should I get? I'm probably going to be running around 1000W RMS max in whatever setup I get, so wouldn't 4gauge be fine or should I get 0 gauge just to have?

lol, don't get the hifonics. that setup you listed is pretty nice and a good price. cadence makes great amps and it should make that se sound nice. i believe the se is dual 4 ohms and that cadence is 2 ohm stable. for wire 4 gauge will work but i would personally go for 1/0 gauge in case of upgrading later.

What's a good place to get a 1/0 kit? Ebay maybe? I got my 4ga. from KnuKonceptz last time, but it's about $70 for the 1/0 gauge and I checked it on ebay and there are some for like $40-$50 I just need to know which one is fine.

wire is wire. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif it might be cheaper to buy it seperately. buy some 1/0 gauge at http://www.weldingsupply.com. buy your rca's at knukonceptz and get a cheapo stinger fuse holder for like $10 and various connecters and 18 gauge wire.
