I just bought a new JL 4X75 amp and had a few questions?

1) How important is the installation? I have heard that it is very important but I can't see how it would matter for an amp, I mean does it really matter how it is hooked up as long as it is hooked up? In other words is it worth putting out big $ for a professional job or should I try to wing it on my own?

2) The amp is to power componet speakers in a 99 F-150, I do not have any subs yet but if I get them how stong of an amp can I get before having to worry about killing my battery and burning out my alternator?

Thanks for any help!

installation is key

basically if you know what you are doing or you can get help from someone you know you should be fine. you can find general installation guides all over the internet so its not very difficult to do by yourself. personally i would only have it professionally installed if what you wanted to do was complicated

if im not mistaken a 100 amp alternator can handle around a 500 watt system (just a rough estimate)

so just go off of that

INSTALLATION IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT...REMEMBER UR RUNNING THIS FROM UR BATTERY, SO SUMTHING DONE CARELESSLY CAN COST U ALOT MORE THAN JUST UR AUDIO STUFF

THE GROUND IS THE MOST IMPORTANT IF U WANT CLEAR SOUND...FASTEN IT TIGHTLY.....MAKE SURE TO DO IT CORRECTLY OR ULL SHORT SOME STUFF OUT, AS I HAVE DONE:(

yo "dallas101346"... two things... one, LAY OFF THE CAPS!!!!!... and two, a normal car audio setup does NOT run off of the battery.
