Need amp for this setup!

I am going to be running 2 Alpine Type-R's 1242 4Ohms Subs. I was wondering what choices I have, and a few suggestions on the amp, such as wattage, brand name, RMS, and Ohms. Any advice would help greatly.

BTW- It is going in a 1998 Malibu LS, so there is decent trunk space. Also need suggestions on the enclosure.

this has been discussed numerous times and we need a budget. kicker kx1200.1, PG xenon or tantrum 1200.1, cadence z1200 or z9000, orion 1200D, viper D1200.1, directed 1500D, rockford T1001BD, crossfire VR1000D

i just ordered a directed audio 1500D for my 1 type r in a tcab box i hope it sound a bit louder!! I would maybe go for orion 1200 or 2500 if u had the money but directed 1100 and 1500 are both great choices!

Given that 80% of the people on these forums seem to jock the type-r I would think a search would reveal the answers you seek. Go and search now young grasshopper.

Obviously buy the biggest amp you can possibly find... depends on your budget.
