Need advice: use amp or not?

I just got this set up DXT-X4869BT combo with two 6x9s and two 6.5s, my car will only fit 4 6.5s so im using the two 6.5s in this combo set and getting two more that are the exact same, which is part # ts-165p. Peak watt is 100 watt each and 25 watt rms at 4 ohms. My question is I have a pioneer amp 2 channel 820 watt part # gm 5500t. Would it be worth using the amp to push the speakers or not. And if so what would be the best way to hook them up. I already have the amp sitting around so its not gonna cost me anything, jw if its worth it and if its safe with that amp. Thanks for any help. Kinda new at alot of this iv hooked up subs before and speakers to radios but never speakers to amp so really unsure with this. Thanks

Thats quite a bit of power for 25w rms speakers...that amp is 125rms into 4 ohms and 190w rms into 2 ohms...The good news is you can wire it the easy way which would be in parallel..The left positive from the amp to the left positive front speaker, then run another wire from the left speaker positive to the positive of the rear left speaker and the same for the negative then repeat the same to the right side...this will give you a 2 ohm load ...you can also wire in series which will keep your 4 ohm load but in any case i dont think you will like how it sounds.

What you can do for now is use the amp to power the fronts and use the head unit to power the rears...it would be better up front as thats considered the sound stage and the rear will be more of a slight fill in if you would even be able to hear them at all.

One possible problem however is with clipping...Your radio only has so much power before it sends a distorted signal ..once you reach this level with the un amplified speakers it will send that distorted signal into the amplifier as well which can damage your amplifier and will also make your amplified speakers distort if they havent blown already...bottom line is, it will sound like crap.

I recommend you either get a small 4 channel amp (maybe 25 to 30rms per channel) or just be happy with what you have for now and not use that amp.. save it for when or if you decide to run a subwoofer.
