need advice on the near impossible (or darn close)

ok heres the story.......my friend (used to go to hs with him) has a 98 reg cab chevy w/2 12" comp vr's pushed by a power acoustik 1920 amp (400x2) in a sealed super pro bass box........another kid has a little nissan extended cab truck w/2 12" solobarics getting the rms from a RF amp, in a prefab ported box (no idea on specs for box, maybe 2.5 cubes net no idea on tuning........the comp vr kid wants to beat the solobaric kid and comes to me for advice and a $200 budget (for subs only, he can buy materials for a box if needed, but he already has the box for 2 12's.........is there anything out there he can get to beat the other kid?i know this is your typical H.S. bs we hear of everyday, but this is how he sees everything i guess.............so far i've suggested 2 type r 12's or 1 type r 15 (little over $200 w/shipping but not much more, his cousin is willing to sell him some "kronik audio" 10's for $150 w/ a box, but having never heard these i couldn't help him........all help is appreciated greatly!!

funny you said that, i was gonna sell them to him for $200, but i took them out of the box to sell them and i called him up and told him i couldn't do it...........i love these subs, i don't know why, maybe it was the price.....i've only had them in a prefab sealed box, but my future plans are a viper 1200.1 in a 4.5 cube box tuned to 33hz..........gonna be sweet.......any suggestions????hes open to all sizes 10's, 12's, 15's whatever....

I dont think you can fit type R's in a Regular cab, well atleast in a prefab box, I can fit them in my 04 chevy reg cab, but i have a custom built box, utilizing every single Inch that i can. But its going to be hard to find 2 subs for 200 dollars to beat him. I would sugest building a ported box for one really good 12 (maybe an RE SX if he wants to be loud) and stick that ported box behind the passengers seat. With a really good designed ported enclosure i think he could beat the solobarics, only because they are in a prefab box.

that sounds good.....he has the fold down console in the middle so maybe a 15 right between there??any suggestions?whats the price on those sx's, and could his amp push it??
