Need Advice on Sub/Amp Combo

Alright, Ive been shopping around lately. I have a sealed box or a ported box that I can use, and dont mind going with either (whichever would give best sound quality)

What I need help with is choosing a decent amp and sub combination. I want to go with a single 12" sub and a mono block amplifier, that would need no more than 8 gauge power leads (as I already have them installed), my receiver is a Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD

oh , and for a budget I would just say nothing real pricey

Any help appreciated.. Thanks

You would need to give specs on the box to choose a sub that would likely work well???

Sealed Box box is X Cubic feet

Ported Box is X Cubic feet Ported @ x HZ w/ X SQ inches of port area

Also box depth would help for woofer depth...

I do not have the specs on the ported box I have, I'd say its roughly the same size as my sealed box which is 12"x12"x14" which is 1.2 ft^3
