Need Advice On Soldering

if u want the wire to stay attached to the prong as ur soldering which i think is what ur asking how to do, just use an alligator clip or something on the tip of the wire and solder it up

If I get solder on the lead in which I'm soldering a wire to, can you solder a wire over it? Sorry for the anal question, but I'm new at this.

The voltage regulator gets pretty warm, will this damage it?

Does the wire need to come into direct contact to the lead? Lets say the lead is covered with solder, can I then re solder the wire over the already soldered lead?

The 5 v regulator in which I'm soldering wires to gets pretty warm, will this damage it?

Use a heat sink on the regulator while you are soldering. It should only take a moment to get it all done up. Tin the leads, tin the wire, slip a piece of heat shrink over each wire, spread the leads, attach a clip on heatsink to the lead that you are working on, lay the wire in line with the lead, heat the wire with the iron until the solder melts on both the lead and the wire, remove heat, move on to next wire and repeat, once you're done with all 3, let it cool for a bit and move the heatshrink into place and shrink with a lighter or hairdryer or heatgun.
