This is going in my old 1997 Honda Accord.
My budget is around $200.
At the present time, I want only a head unit to use with my factory stock speakers.
Later, I will be upgrading all speakers and adding a modest subwoofer+amp. But I'm doing this a little at a time. For the time being, I'm just concentrating on getting a great HU for the money that provides an awesome bluetooth hands-free calling experience.
What I'm looking for in a head unit:
- Single DIN
- Excellent bluetooth hands-free capabilities (this is my highest current priority)
- External mic (preferably noise-canceling, because my car is LOUD at hwy speeds)
- Integrated HD radio tuner
- detachable faceplate
I am currently looking at two head units I can pick up locally. They are both on sale but from different retailers (both authorized vendors):
The first is the Sony MEX-GS810BH (specs: here ). (I noticed it has a noise-canceling mic and a three-year warranty, which is cool.) I can get this locally on sale for about $200.
The other is the Kenwood KDC-BT755HD (specs: here). I called Kenwood to ask if the bluetooth mic is noise-canceling, the guy I talked to said he didn't think it was. I can get this locally on sale for about $150.
Considering that I want to later upgrade my speakers and put in a subwoofer+amp, which of these would better suit my needs?
Do you have another suggestion that would be better than both of these? I would love to hear your suggestions for other head units, but I would like to hear why your pick is better!
