Hey everyone,

My stock deck finally crapped out on me so I took it as a sign that i should finally upgrade my system. Was hoping I could run my plan by you guys and get your input. I'm driving around in an 04 Jeep Liberty with stock everything except subs/amp which I've had for 7 years now.

Current System:

Head unit: Stock

Components: Stock Infinity

Subs: 2xJL 12w3v3

Sub Amp: JL 500/1

Plan for new system:

Head unit: Alpine CDE-HD137BT

Components: JL C3-650

Components amp: JL JX360/2 (2x 110 @ 4 ohms)

Accessories: Steering wheel controller

Basically I need to replace both my deck and speakers (deck died and blew one of my speakers) and after hearing the above setup I was a pretyt big fan. I also love the idea of coming out of this 100% JL (the OCD in me loves consitency). That being said, car toys (yeah..i know) quoted this out to $1500 so I wanted to run my ideas by you guys before I took a plunge at that price.

Side notes:

- Would love to pull this in closer to $1k if possible (and still have a great sounding system)

- Deck needs to support blue tooth audio streaming, honestly don't care about the rest (don't have an android or iphone)

- Don't care about the rear door speakers. I rarely ever have anyone in the back seat.

Thoughs?

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by what response I want. I do know that I listened to some Focals side by side with the JL C3-650's and thought the Focals were a little harsher sounding due to the aluminum cone. But I'm open to any options as I'm no pro at this.

My door sizes are 6 1/2", I've got space for tweeters currently in my dash and I don't care about my rear doors.

Alpine CDE-HD137BT CD/MP3/WMA Car Stereo w/ HD Radio & Bluetooth

JL Audio Evolution C3-650 6-1/2" Convertible Component Speakers

JL Audio JX360/2 (JX3602) 360W RMS, 2-Chan Class A/B JX Amplifier

You are not going to find much better bang for your buck than the above listed equipment.( if so, I want to see it)

You should do some research here and learn how to integrate this system into your car for the best results..heck, you can prep the doors properly by yourself with sound deadener and pay CT to install the amp, wire up the speakers and install the HU...do the necessary dirty work yourself. All they will do is simply pop the old out and drop in the new. If you can install the tweeters and do the midbasses right, you will save on install fees and have a better install.

I do not know what Car tunes quoted you for equipment, but here is the same equipment from an Authorized Internet Retailer for $600 shipped to your door that will carry full warranty when Car Tunes installs the products( I am assuming the $1500 was including install fees)...Plus you can buy extended warranties through Sonic.
