need advice on amps

Running 2 MTX 12's 225 rms a piece. What would be a good amp to use to get the full potential out of these 2 subs? Thanks in advance!

150-250 dollars. I want something that is going to give the best bang for the buck though. clean deep sounding bass. I was told getting a 600 rms at 2 ohms and setting the gain down would probably be best . I would recommend getting the most power you can for your price range and then adjusting the gains down to the level that you need. If you can pickup a 1,000 watt amp for that (which you may be able to do) then do it and adjust the gains down and just keep the extra headroom incase you change out subs.

Check the classifieds for amps, I'm sure there are TONS in that price range for what you want.

Thanks for the response btw. I guess the better question is.. what brand amp is recommended? I hear a lot of talk about alpine amps. Good sub amps? I am running a kenwood 4 channel amp on my fronts and rear and it sounds great. kenwood have good sub amps?

No problems on the replies. There are literally dozens of good brands out now. On this forum, sundown gets some of the best reviews. They won't have something for you in your price range though.

Alpine is good

Kenwood gets mixed reviews but do decently well imo

Let me check classifieds and see if anything is for sale from someone reputable.

That price on that jl is dirt cheap. If that sale didn't go through please tell me you'll jump on that amp. Otherwise I'd do the alpine or keep looking for a good deal in the classifieds. You'll get the most for your $ if you do that.
