need advice on a regular cab cut through

I have never done it, but IMHO I dont think wrecking the resale of your vehicle is worth it. I love car audio, but why lose 2-3 thousand over some subs? They make shallow mount subs that you can run in a sealed box, and still have a resellable truck.

Well I have thought about it in the past and know that a cut through would probably hurt the value.
hurt the value? itd kill it. i doubt you could sell it for more then 500 if u cut out the bed and cab and sell it to someone who isnt an audio enthusiast.

yea, I am going through a lot of trouble restoring it to. I was debatting this heavily and figured I would be keeping the truck but if I ever did decide to sell it I would be screwed.

I'm not sure what truck you have or what kind of restoration you are doing, but i am doing a frame up restoration on my 1990 chevy k1500. If your are putting as much money as I am or even half as much there is no way in hell i would ever cut it up. Any money you put into it is worthless if you hack it up unless you can seamlessly put it all back together which i imagine would be a nightmare. Id do a custom console if i was you. just my .02. btw any pics or info on your truck?

i have done this to a friends S-10. the mod its self is not super hard but unless you want to be the final owner of the truck i would not do it.( he later removed the box, put a drop in bedliner in the bed and carpeted the back of the cab and traded the truck in at a chevy dealer without telling them about the holes.)

I have dumped about 7k into the truck so far... that is before paint and interior is done. It is a 1987 chevy silverado 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive that I just lifted, new rims and tires, brand new crate motor, rebuilt np-208 transfer case, th-400 was recently rebuilt. detroit lockers front and rear. I know I couldnt get what I am going to putt into this truck but hacking the cab all to shit isnt going to help.

here is a pic before it was stripped down in preperation of paintting it. It also does nott have the 8" kit installed, it had a 6" lift in the pic.

It has some 35x14.50x16.5 boggers on it now so the tires them selves are kind of a shitty ride but the lockers made it a ***** to make a u-turn because the tires fight each other.
