Need advice from the pros on 6.5 comps

Currently I have JL Audio XR650 comps in the front. They are being fed by a rockford amp (551x 4ch | 2 ch -->tweeters + 2ch -->6.5s using HU crossover in 3-way mode) with 70 wrms/ch. Right now they sound pretty good, but I want to upgrade.

I want to bridge the amp into 2 channels at 200+ per channel and upgrade to some comps that will handle the power and sound better than the JLs and have good midbass.

One problem I am having is that there aren't a whole lot of shops (if any) around to listen to some higher end comps. I was also thinking of mixing brands too. Maybe a xxx6.5 with some tweeters and active crossover.

Budget is around $350 - $400, will go higher if there is a BIG difference in quality.

I searched on the CDTs, Boston Pros, Focals and Diamond Hexes. I really don't have a way to compare them sound wise.

i can't answer your question, but i was in the same boat. I can't listen to most speakers, so i buy deaf.

you have to go with reccomendations

all the above listed are smokin speakers

of course I like my HEXs.but havent heard Bostons or Focals so I cant comment

I positive they all are killer with a good amp and lots of power

Diamond or CDT you cant go wrong. I would get decent amp thou.
