Hey Guys, just registered because I knew I could probably get the help I need here. I asked on my dodge board but no one could help to much. I am looking to put a small system together on my 02 Durango. My goal is to have a nice sound stage. I don't want window shaking bass and I don't want to add a sub box because I go skiing and need all the room. What I wanted to do was use the stock locations. It the front I have 6.5 and same in the rear. I was thinking about a nice set of components for the front (polk, alpine, boston) and some 6.5 MTX or JL woofers in the back doors. I'm just not sure if this is going to give me what I want. I'm also concerned about passengers in the rear not hearing the tunes with just woffers in the doors. Is there a way to get good sound and bass out of components ? Not sure what to do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Anyone's help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Brian

you could always go for adding speakers.... get components for the front( mids and tweeters) and add a single sub in the back( inside the 1/4 like stock fords sometimes come. it will be out of the way and still make some nice base.) but building that box will take skill lol. there is also the posability of makin under seat boxes and puting some subs in there for the deep bass. ide go components up front and rear and bass under the seats or in the rear as stated.

I was thinking the same. I just read through like 6 pages about 6.5's. I could be going with a focal comp front and rear. I don't have the ability to listen to all these speakers so I have to go on reviews. I just went out to smoke a butt and look at the inside of the truck again. I could be thinking about making some kind of custom enclosure in the back of the truck on the sides like you mentioned. I never made one before but I have some carpentry skills. My main goal is to have clarity with some punch.

Well I'm back. Still trying to pick some speakers but so far this is an idea. Comps in the front and back doors. Now I'm thinking about an MTX thunderform to go in the back floor compartment. Should I be looking for a 5 channel amp ? Does this sound like I'm heading in the right direction ? Sorry about all the questions. I'm reading as much as possible.
