need advice for a c5 vette

if the 10w7 wont fit in a stealth i might go custom then. im going to use the memphis belle 1300. so at 2ohm it putting out 115x4 and 600x1 to the w7. would this work?
A 10w7 runs at 3ohms, so that will be fine. If you decide to go with the custom box, make sure you communicate with the installer that you need it to be removeable.

so i guess ill be going with the platinum line. what does active mean? also what ohm's do the rainbows run on, or does that matter. last, what speakers for the rear, and how will the amp be setup? will the 4 chanels be going to the fronts only or front and rear? im pretty much a total newb at car audio so thanks for the help guys.

the front end of my truck is active. i have a zapco 650.6 dc on my highs/mids. 4 channels are on the front and 2 are on the rear. if you dont know about the dc's, i would highly recommend reading about them either in the new car audio & electronics or on www.zapco.com. time delay, 10 band EQ per channel, etc... way cool. all digitally setup from the in dash controller (sold seperatly) or from a lap top, your local dealer can do that for you. but, if you do that, you will be running all six channels and have to use another amp for your subs.

as for highs/mids, the rainbows are a good speaker. boston pros sound good, but as far as loudness goes, cant hang with some of the others. dynaudio makes a good speaker, but you might have to alter your doors a little bit. focal has some nice stuff as well. i am very pleased with my zapco components that i just recently got too.

you really dont have to alter your doors much in a c5. the cavity is huge and the speaker opening are massive. you can fit a 7" and 4" in there with out any mods. mount the tweeter in the doorpull or a-pillar and you'll be good to go. if you want a w-7, you can get a subthump box custom built for that sub for about 200 bucks. I really have been impressed with the zapco line, using balanced inputs so much so that i just purchased an active x-over and mono amp from them. if you have a coupe you can mount a moderately sized amp vertically against the back wall and lose very little space. or better yet mount it in the center of the car right behind the lip behind the seats. (this will distribute the weight a little better). You will need to get acc power from someplace other then the stock harness. once you pull the stock h/u the acc lead becomes inactive. you can do this by tapping off of fuse no 22 or right above and to the left of the pcm there is a 3 wire bundle (brown, yelllow and black i think) one of those wires is an acc lead.

do you ever go to the corvette forums? you should check out some of the installs in the audio section, there are a bunch of great guys there as well.

edit: just noticed you're in socal, im on the west side. hit me up if you have install questions.
