So I have stock high performance sound system in my volvo S40 sedan which consists of 4x 2ohm 6.5" 40W component speakers driven by Alpine TDA8560q amp. Two front speakers had blown, so I replaced them with R165 4Ohm speakers and now it sounds like crap...
I don't know that is the problem, but those R165 lack bass even with my EQ set max on BASS and treble on MIN. Oh and the highs feels very tight and compressed like listening through a phone speaker.. Maybe it might be due to the tweeter placement as they are placed inside the door almost right in front of the face?
I would like to ask is this normal with R165 component kit to have lack of bass and not pleasant highs and mids? or my Alpine amp which produces 40W at 2ohm, or 25W at 4ohm is messing the sound?
Second question should I swap R165 to the back and buy new bass-richer component speakers for the front? If so could you recommend something
