Need advice - 2 Kicker 12"

I have'nt post here in a long time, my last post helped get me into all the audio stuff. I dont have as much money as expected, so im trying to budget.

That said i was on craigslist and i saw a posting for two Kicker 12" CRV's ( Maybe the poster ment to put CVR'S?? )

Anyway i texted him, and he lives about 10 mins away from me, and we are going to meet up and he's going to let me hear them. He says the subs are only 4 months old and he's selling them for money for a new amp for his new 15's. He wants $200 for them. As far as i know he's giveing me the box too.

So here are my questions -

1. This is a good deal/price right?

2. Will these hit hard, i looked on kicker.com and it said the peak at 800 watts?

3. Would you wait for a better deal or buy now?

4. Also would i be able to run these just on the stock battery that also runs my car?

I just want something that will hit hard and be loud..my buddy has two kicker 12's comps and i just want to match him.

I talked to the guy again, and i think we are going to meet up tomarrow. Anyway, i also need to know - Is it risky dealing on craigslist? I want the subs, but i dont want to get them, install them then have them blow like after a week. What are the chances if i hear them and they look/sound ok that they'd be alright?

If you search you can find a pair brand new for about $150.

Peak means nothing.

I like CVR's, I think they're a great budget sub.

Refer to #1. Or look into some Type R's if you can save up a little more cash.

Depends. My friend had issues with his Denali just by running a pair of Type E's. And another had no issues while running 4 10" CVR's in a Blazer. (Both had no Big 3 or any other electrical upgrade though)

What battery is upfront? How many amps is your alternator?

i wouldn't buy those for two bills?

i think you can one FI or audioque that will sound really compared to Kicker, plus you can get a warranty for them ,

look around a little bit more be you buy.

Yeah thanks guys. I looked and you can get a brand new set of 12"s in a box for like 180. Im just waiting for a bit then im going to buy them.

Im not sure about my battery, i'll have to check.

Also what amp would be enough to make those kicker cvr 12"s kick? I know sony xpold is horrible, but my buddy that i told you about is running his comps on one and it sounds nice. I've got another friend who said he'll sell the same amp for $50 bucks.

So should i buy a diff. amp or take the sony? Im really dont have to much cash right now, so anything over $175 would'nt be good. And i know you probly cant get any amp for that amount.

you could buy the D2 cvrs and probably find a kicker zx750.1 for around $175. it would be a nice match if you don't want to spend a lot.
