just got the 1508s in tonight and was wondering if anybody knows what the excursion capability is for this driver.

the suspension is a lot stiffer than i thought it would be, i guess thats why the work well tuned at 40hz.

once they do they really get moving

for now a mtx 6500d with a birth sheet rating of 597 watts @12.5v. after i finish building a 140a alt for my 85 bronco i will be using an mtx 81000d.

iam thinking of putting it in a sealed box and running a 30 hz tone through it off of my home audio amp(harman kardon) for a "burn in" for about 24 hours or so.

or is there a better way?

they really start to shine around 800-1000

i didnt give mine more than 5 minutes of break in. played them for a few minutes adjusting gains then let them have it

The x-max is more than I thought it would be. But in the right ported box they hit many notes well.

most we ran was a 1800 to a single 1508 svc in a fart box

it was plain nasty. sub was still good though after

i have mine on a solid 500watts and its not enough. tune your box a little lower and it should be good.

yeah, i dont plan on blasting them with 1500 a piece, ill keep the gain low. try to give them about 1k each, maybe 36hz or so then for box tuning. what size box is yours in?

1k will be good for each. i have mine in 1cuft, there are some pics in this section and in the review section. new, they take some time to break in but they are quite amazing for an 8

if you want to give them 1000-1500 each put them in .75ft each @38-42hz

after disp that should leave you a little over .5ft3 each
