Need a WinISD expert! (Model a driver)

Never Enough Money
Well I'm tossing around the idea of adding a second Dayton HO10 to my system to get some extra bump for the summertime //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Problem is, I don't have ANY idea how to use WinISD to model out the difference between two drivers and one or figure out the box dimensions. I took a shot at it using a guide on sounddomain, but I'm not familiar enough with the program to determine if I'm right or wrong.

So here's where you come in. I'd like to know the difference in output (dB) between a single HO10 running off 600wRMS and two HO10's running off 300wRMS each. And if you are feeling really helpful, how two HO10's running off 500wRMS each model out.

I'd like to keep the box as small as possible since I drive a tC and use my trunk every once in a while. Preferable port tuning is ~30-32Hz.

Thanks in advance guys! If I do end up going this way, I'll be needing someone to draw up some box plans and would gladly pay a few bucks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Here you go.

Hey man thanks a lot! That's exactly what I was looking for! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So what do you guys think? Is it worth what looks to be a 3dB increase to move up to two HO10's? Will two really help me out with that low-end thump and output I want?

Yes, if you can keep from compromising enclosure volume, and your amp can handle the second sub being wired up, it's most definitely worth adding the second driver.

Not to say I told you so... but I did. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

3dB is a noticable difference, for sure. That's what I would do.

On a side note... HO10's are sold out everywhere until the end of July, unless you know someone I don't.

Yea yea yea lol

So would adding another help to produce "cleaner" sound? This is what I was told on DIYMA, but I never got an explanation as to why and what cleaner sound meant.

Thanks again guys //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Perhaps whomever said 'cleaner' could have referred to the fact that you wouldn't be pushing a pair quite as hard to produce the same output as you would a single unit. If you find yourself doing just that, then it would make sense to snag a second one.
