Need a single 8" or 10" sub

I've looked through the first 5 or 6 pages of this thread and I don't see anything that is similar to mine. I'm just looking for some bass to make my music sound good. My cts currently has a stock 8" sub and it sounds terrible. I want to put either an 8 or 10 and an amp in my car. What brands would you recommend? Would the 10 be too loud? I don't want to spend much on it, maybe around $300 for the sub and amp, its really not that big of a deal to me. I was looking at a Kicker Comp VR 8 or 10 but someone in the amp forum said it wasn't good and to look around here for something better

kicker has terrible sound quality. there mostly good for SPL. i have a rockford he2 8" sub that im selling very cheap. its 250 rms and it has a very nice smooth sound and gets pretty low for an 8. check my FS thread on here. or pm me if your interested. this woofer would keep you under budget and keep u in the game with a pretty sweet sub too.

I have a bnib Elemental Designs 8 Im not using...its a single 2 ohm VC...It would be a big upgrade from the factory 8 if intrested PM me Ill make you a good deal...

You couldn't find a thread asking what subwoofer you should get? Theres like 5 per page sometimes.

Whats your budget that'd probably narrow down the price of woofers we send your way.

All the ones I see are limited depth or a couple 12's. I didn't see any who ask "I just want a little bit of bass"
