Hello Car Audio community!! I just picked up a 2001 ACURA CL for my wife and it has a crappy BOSE factory system. I need help selecting a new system for the car. DECK, AMP, SPEAKERS, the whole works. I have about $900.00 to spend on the system and she loves loud deep bass. What do I need?

Are you planning on installing this yourself or taking it to an installer? If so is that supposed to be included in your budget?

If your doing it yourself this would be a bangin system.

This headunit is a great one for the price. Has features like bluetooth, handsfree calling and pandora. We have found it to be a success in installs that we have done. - $128

Sony MEX-N5100BT SiriusXM Ready Bluetooth Car Stereo w/ Pandora Support

For the front and rear speakers the CDT Com 626 set will do the trick and sound great. - $250 retail, we can do $150.

CDT Audio COM-626CR Front Comp Set & Rear Fill Coaxial

For the speaker amp Phoenix Gold is great choice. - Normally $230 but can do $165.

Phoenix Gold RX 400.4 Four Channel Amplifier

For the sub we have a mint Eclipse 8812 12" woofer that would make a great fit. $140

The amp for the sub would be a matching Phoenix Gold 500.1 - Normally $180. Can do $140

Phoenix Gold RX 500.1 Monoblock Amplifier

Sub box - hit up CSCStang here on the forum. Imagine a box built to spec for this sub would be in the $150 range.

All wiring. (power wire, speaker wire, fuse/fuseholder, RCA's, remote wire etc.) - $70

That puts you at $943 for a solid system that will sound awesome for the money. I would recommend spending another $100 or so on sound deadening to get rid of some rattle.

I just found out I have 2 Kicker L7 Solobaric subs in the garage. Would the Phoenix Gold RX 500.1 Monoblock Amplifier still be a good amp for these or would you suggest something else?

The back of the subs say 10 L7 duel 2 Ohms I am guessing because the symbol looks like a horseshoe the has voice Coils underneath. Sorry I don't see an impedance? The write up I found online says

Handles up to 1200W peak output (600W RMS) @ 2 ohms

For powerful sound.

25-500Hz frequency response

Ensures accurate sound reproduction.

85.9dB sensitivity

Picks up the highs and lows for faithful sound reproduction.

10" injection-molded polypropylene woofer cone

With santoprene surround material for a lush soundscape.

2 ohms impedance

Conducts power evenly to keep the speaker at an appropriate level.

Nickel-plated, spring-loaded terminals

Kinda a bummer that they are dual 2 ohm subs but we can work with it.

Here is what I would recommend.

We have one of these that is in near perfect condition. This would give the perfect amount of power. Is a very efficient amp that puts out clean power. $450

ZED Audio Minotaur III

Or

This amp which is a great choice but is a bit bulkier and draws more power. Plus it doesn't do as much at 2 ohms. $510

Ampere Audio 2000.1 Single Channel Amplifier
