Hey guys, about 3 weeks ago my trusty Crossfire 1000 blew on me so now I need a new one for my car. I need an amp somewhere in the range of 1000@1ohm to run my Image Dynamics IDMAX 12" sub. I havent bought amps in about 4yrs so I really am clueless. Any advise would be great. Thanks.

Could I run a 2ch amp on my sub & still get enough power to it? I was looking at the Fosgate P6002. The specs are:

* Max power watts per channel: 1800W @ 2 ohms

* 600W RMS (continuous) x 1 @ 4 ohms, bridged

* 300W RMS (continuous) x 2 @ 2 ohms

* 150W RMS (continuous) x 2 @ 4 ohms

My single sub is a D4, if I remember right..its been a couple years.

well the problem is that if you just running that one idmax and your sub is DVC 4 ohms, then you can only achieve a 2ohm or 8ohm load. so most likely you going to run the sub @ 2ohms so you will need an amp that is stable @ 2ohms and that amp you listed seems like it will not be stable @ 2ohms. not many two channel amps are stable @ 2ohms mono.

eD Nine.1 will put out 1000 watts rms @ 2 ohms all day, given a healthy electrical system. It's available for $315 with the forum discount code:
