Need a new HU. options?

Bought a renewed MTX thunder 1000d and found out from reviews and people that had experience with it that i should have a head unit with at least 4v preout. I have a ALPINE 9827 and only 2v p/o. I have to exclude Eclipse 'cause i really need detachable face plate. So what should i look into? Still need a decent deck. Thanks in advance.

I'm sorta confused, I was looking to buy a 9827 or 9830, because I saw that they had 4v pre-outs. Did they make two versions of that HU? Cause crutchfield says it has 4v.

Manufactures are making sublevel lines for big box stores and mainlevel lines for private retailers, thats why you see the small differences in model numbers. this is to help small private dealers compete with the big box stores by giving the littler guys nicer stuff to sell.

I would look at a high end Pioneer or Kenwood for a replacement deck.

The one that has the right features for the better price would be the winner.

The '05 Alpine HU's seem to be having warranty issues this year.

I switched to Excelon in one of my cars

I have a exclon hu and it is nice. It has a 5v p/o rating were my Alpine has 4. Also I like how the excelon has a high pass filter for the front and rears so you can switch it at the hu my alpine doesnt
