Need a new box for the 12 w7, jl specs box didn't satisfy me

Well, I built a box to jl specs for the 12 w7. It was 1.75cu ft net tuned to 36Hz(says 32 on the manual, website says 36)

It gets loud, but Im missing all the low notes. I kind of had the feeling I would when I was building the box, because it seemed too small! The only reason why I tried it was several seaches on here showed a few happy customers with the 1.75 box. Also, it couldn't be bad since the box would be smaller and lighter:thumbsup:

Now I want to build a new one for the LOW LOW bass. My previous setup in a sealed enclosure had me more than satisfied. But this new setup has me wanting more.

Anyone have an idea of what box would be better. Im thinking either to go sealed, ported bigger and tune lower(even though I can't afford having a heavier box), or plug the port?

If you want more low end, I would do about 2.5 cubes tuned to 28hz or so. That should give you decent output and a ton of low end.
