Need a great CHEAP car!!!!!!!!

So I'm in NC in case anyone has one. But my girl needs a cheap means of transportation to work, college, etc.. Budget is $1500-2200 dollars for the car. Yeah I know that is real tight but it's what we're working with.

I was thinking toyota, nissan, honda but it's hard to find one that hasn't been in a wreck or doesn't have 190k so I'm pretty much left with mid-90's car's like a volvo 850 with 100k
