Need A Box Design Please.

I'd say like 4-4.5 cubes net with 60 sq. in of port tuned to around 34Hz if he listens to alot of Jeezy. I love Jeezy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
word! that sounds good.

if you think that will fit...i can email cut specs and you can paypal $5
let me take a gander.

was thinking that at least 2.5- 4 cu ft would be the best bet...

The only reason you would make a box that small would be to tune high for SPL. He said he wants it to be musical and hit the lows really well for rap. A larger box with lots of port area and a low tune would be much better suited. Just don't run them at full power. Just because your car has 500 h.p. doesn't mean you need to use it at every stop light... have some restraint. Now, if he only has room for 2 cubic feet, thats another story. In that situation, you'd want to use 1 12". You'll get louder on the proper enclosure with the right woofer than you would cramming two woofers in too small of a box with a really low tune.

maybe dnick needs to rethink his design....

Bigger boxes mean it takes less power to unload the sub and cause it to over exert, smaller boxes let you use more power and keep the sub from unloading (over excursion)

right on!

yea let me get the max demensions for ya really quick!

Hmm, I looked on the PB website, I guess they can use 1.25 cu. ft, that seems quite small though. I'm using 1.5 cubes EACH on my 10's and they sound great, but granted, I'm not feeding em that much power, although they could take more. I'm just used to building larger boxes I guess. that's what a sub sonic filter is for, correct?

Subsonic filter is the same as a low pass filter, just reversed. Just like filtering out the high freq. it filters out extremely low frequencies. It's so if you have a ported box, you can set it so that you never drive your woofers below your port frequency, or atleast not too harshly anyways.

ok. my last box was 4cu ft tuned to 36 hz, for 2 FI SSD's, they are 800w rms, and i was giving them over 1k a piece..

Keep in mind, higher end audio stuff is rated conservatively. You can usually feed em more. Careful with the more cost-oriented brands. Granted... almost all subs can take a little more so long as the power you're feeding them is clean and unclipped.

What year is your Accord, or friend's or whatever. I'm actually driving a 1998 Accord. 1998-2002 was the same body style, and even the ones up to '04 or 05' shared the same trunk compartment. I can give you some dimensions if you needed to know.

if you want those designs ( i believe they will fit in an accord unless its that much of a difference between it and the civic) my paypal is carlanderson_2000@hotmail.com
hold on a sec. id kinda like to see what it looks like before i start throwing money out!
