Need a 4 channel amp recommendation

Hey guys, you probably get these threads a lot but I'm in need of some assistance. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I recently received my Pioneer DEH-P880PRS headunit and I plan on either ordering some Image Dynamics CTX65CS or Pioneer TS-C720PRS component speakers. I plan on running these active from the HU.

My question is what amp would you recommend that will supply enough juice without breaking the bank? The only one I've heard a lot about is the Cadence TXA-6004 which is $180 from their actual store but unfortunately, they've been sold out of those for a while.

I was just wondering if there was anything else I should look at. Or is the Cadence TXA-6004 THE amp to get when you consider what you get out of it versus the cost?

Any assistance would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

Sorry for not including my budget. I was thinking around $200 or so. Of course, if there's a MUCH better amp for a little more than $200 and it is definintely worth me saving up for, then I probably well. Then again, if there's a great amp that's cheaper that will do the job nicely, then I can also go that route. Hope that makes sense, haha. I guess in short an amp that is great for its price, and with its max price being a little over $200.

How much power? I'd be lying if I knew exactly because I'm still somewhat new to this game. Is there a way to figure out how much power one would need?

I'll look into the posted recommendations, thanks for the quick replies!

Oh, and keep the recommendations flowing! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Bump!

So far I've been checking out the Cadence TXA-6004 and the Kicker ZX 650.4 amps. Is there anything else in similar price range I should also consider?

Thanks.

Been searching around and found this Kicker ZX350.4 for $143 shipped. What do you guys think?

If it matters, I've decided I'm still going to run my set up active but I will probably be using ID OEM mids and possibly some Seas Neo tweeters instead of the CTX's.

Will this amp be powerful enough to supply the juice that this set up will demand?

Please let me know, as the amp selection is my biggest question mark right now.

Thanks!

Looks good but currently on backorder. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Anyone else? Can anyone comment on the Kicker I posted and simply state if it's a good amp or not? If you think I can do better, please let me know as of course, I haven't purchased an amp yet.

I will be checking back on the XA4000 and see when it comes back in stock, thanks for the heads up man.

I was actually brought back to this thread for that very reason Side Show. Just found out I can actually run the tweets off of the HU and have two open channels in the 4 channel amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Since this can be done, I was thinking about leaving the two channels unused until I can afford to get a sub. I'm currently looking real hard at a IDQv3. Or if I can't get that in the future, another 10" or 12" SQL sub. I want tight, accurate bass and have no desire for the other kinds of subs.

So barring this new information in hand, and I apologize for only realizing this now, will any of the listed amps, whether it be from the ones I suggest or the ones other members I suggested, be able to run two channels with clean power to the mids and also supply enough juice for the future sub?

This might increase my budget a little bit, since I originally planned on getting two amps; one for the speakers, and one for the future sub. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So taking these points into consideration, what would you all recommend now? Just to clarify, there are some amps that can drive component speakers and a sub just fine, correct?

Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

Don't run the tweets off the HU power. You'll regret it. It'd be a disappointment on just about every level.

Depending on your total amp budget, you could look at a small 5 channel amp. You'd run the front speakers active on the 4 normal channels and the sub off the mono 5th channel.
