Need a 4 channel amp for active setup...

I'm looking to go active in these up coming months so I need a good 4 channel amp to power the speakers.

Currently my front stage amp is a Linear Power 2.2HV so I'd like to atleast keep in the same area quality/build wise (which I know is hard to match //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif)...I'm not worried about price since I'll have whatever I buy for quite some time. I'd like it better if it had good onboard x-overs but I will buy a seperate one if need be (I'd rather not though).

So far a few brands have come to mind, namely Arc, Zapco, JL, Diamond...all make quality products but I have no experience with any of them...so I look to you to help give me some type of objective review on them, hell even subjective let me know what you personally liked/disliked...

BTW the speakers will be 6.5 Alpine Type X mids (the early model w/ blue cones) and the Vifa XT25 tweeters...I'm looking for around 75+ watts per channel as well.

How much did you want to spend??

MB Quart RAA4200 can be had for about $200 shipped and authorized IIRC.

Or... if you like dynamic headroom, you could get the QAA4250 (4 x 250 @ 4 ohm @ 12V) for about $450 shipped.

No real budget honestly, but I'd like to keep it under 450 because IMO spending more than that on an amp is crazy, but hey maybe I'll find an amp I'd really like.

I'm also considering Helix amps, I almost snagged an HXA500 for 250 shipped...but I was 2nd in line for that amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif.

That, honestly, would be the way I would go. Pair of 2.2HV's rather than a single 4-channel. Then either a good quality outboard active xover, or grab a HU that has one built in (my Eclipse 8053 will be for sale here shortly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif )

I have thought of that, but then I'd have to buy two amps because then I'd need a sub amp since I plan to use the 2.2HV as my sub amp and an x-over because I'm sure you know that the T03 series amps do not have an on board x-over or anything like that.

I've looked into that PG amp, but the x-overs only go from 40-800hz, 800hz is a little low to be crossing these tweeters at...I was hoping to do it more around 1.2k-1.5k but 250.00 for that amp is a good deal so it will be in consideration.

But you can pick up a good class D sub amp with just as much power as that LP for pretty cheap now-a-days.
