I currently have this amp (MB Quart Reference RAA2400 2-channel car amplifier 200 watts RMS x 2 at Crutchfield.com) powering a single 12" by alumapro that is rated for 600w RMS.
The problem is the sub doesnt hit nearly as hard as I would like, but hey it only cost me $200 at the time so it was a good deal. Now I have some extra cash laying around and I would like to get a beefier sub.
I want a sub that will use the full potential of my amp, which says it can output 800w RMS bridged @ 4ohm.
I listen to 50% pop 25% rock and 25% rap music. I like a good mix of SPL and SQ. The thing I have always wanted in a sub was something that when a sharp bass note hits hard you can feel it deep in your chest. I like the sound to be tight for the most part, as I dont listen to THAT much rap music where muddy bass notes rattle on for ages.
I always liked the JL12w7 when I first built my system a few years ago, but obviously could not afford a $500+ sub back then. I see some of them on ebay for ~500 now.
Looking for a 12" because there is no room in my trunk for anything larger, the 12" and box I have now barely clears the trunk lid as it is. I dont think I could afford / want two 12's.
If you think my AMP is shit let me know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I got it for free a long time ago. Its pretty old but I dont think I have time / money to buy another amp at the moment let alone install it, so hopefully you guys think it will do. I actually just had it repaired / replaced by an "authorized" (according to mbquart) technician so its in top condition.
