Need 6.5" speaker recomendations for a 2010 GTI

So I just got two new amps: RF T1000-bdCP and the T600-4 to power my alpine swx-1043d sub. The original plan was to turn the gain right down on the T600 and run it to the fronts and rears, but I found out that I'll probably blow the stock speakers doing this.

The original plan was to do that and eventually upgrade the 4 speakers when I had to. But it seems this isn't the case. Now I'm reading that I really only have to upgrade the front speakers. (So I probably could have got away with the T400-4 amp, oh well future proofing :p).

So anyway, I'll be keeping the rears hooked to the HU for rear fill and then amp the fronts. The amp is rated to do 100-125w @4 ohm or 200-250w bridged @ 4ohm. So what are good speaker recommendations that come with the two fronts, the two tweeters and possibly the cross-overs.

Looking to spend under $2-300, but it's not a tight budget.

Thanks

I've heard great things about HAT (hybrid audio technologies) and the clarus line, but the Imagine's are in about that price range. What are you going for? This is more of an SQ solution. As for the amp, I did the same thing and just bridged the connections for headroom. I'm finding that giving myself room to grow is never a bad way to go.

Exactly, it was $250 for the 400, and $400 for the 600. And I have an older 325w RF that I love and the quality has surpassed my expectations so I figure buy once more and do it right. 1000w for me for a sub is all I need.

I'm looking mostly for good SQ and I listen mostly to house and dub-step, with the odd time classic/alt rock.

You may be able to find JL Audio C5 components for that price. If you want to try out Hybrid Audio speakers, consider auditing the Unity line (very similar to Imagine, but crossover is much better. Imagines are basically good drivers to run active, because their crossover is somewhat primitive).

If this is an SQ, no need to keep up with a huge substage install, I'd say the exact same thing.

I'm liking the JL Audio C5's I'm gonna see if I can find a dealer locally who has them so I can listen to them. The tweeters are 3/4" and I know the one's in the car now are 1" is there an adapter for those. I know there are a ton of spacers and brackets for the speakers, but haven't encountered any for tweeters.
