Vehicle - 2003 Chevy Impala
Enclosure - Dual 12" Ported - I don't know the exact specs right now
Desired Wattage - 500-600w RMS EACH (1k watt system)
Amp - NOT SURE EXACTLY but it will be a HIFONICS amp with 1,000w RMS amp running at either 500w x 2 or 1,000w x 1. Amp will most likely run 1,000w @ 2ohms so keep that in mind.
Budget - TOTAL for both subs should NOT exceed $600. $500-$600 is my range, but if I can get two good 500w RMS subs for far less, BY ALL MEANS RECOMMEND THOSE.
I currently have two JLw3's so I'd like decent SQ with good SPL. I am willing to shop online as well as ebay. I'm not TOO picky about brands, but I'm sure this forum wouldn't recommend any garbage to begin with.
Also, will I need to invest in a new battery, cap, or alternator? If so, I'll knock that stuff out before I upgrade. My bass system is currently @ 600w RMS, but that's with the ideal voltage and gain settings.
