NE1 know anything about this subs

I doubt anyone has used either of those yet, considering neither are available yet.

I probably wouldn't expect anything less than great performance out of these given Adire isn't known for putting out underperforming subwoofers. But, without them being in the hands of consumers yet...there's no tellin'.

I just wanna know what ya''ll think about these subs...like what do they compare too,I am lookin at the 18's

the SPL on the subs are a little low by comparision to some other subs out there,

at 88.9 db at 1w/1m giving 1000W another subwoofer with 96.6 db 1w1m would reach that 1000W with half the power or almost half (not giving u exact figures but u get the idea, for every 3 db increase u need to double the power, but if u have a very efficient sub u don't need that much power pushing it for the same result)

I would not go under spl 92.5 db for a sub, anything under that is no good for me.

That's a pretty worthless philosphy.

Having a low sensitivity should not inherently make a subwoofer less desireable.

Hoffman's Iron Law, anybody ?

Of course not, BUT, as i said it is not as efficient as some other subwoofers out there. And low sensitivity is a HUGE difference, wether u want to believe it or not does not change that fact. Instead of buying a 1000 something Watt Amp to push a sub it might be better to buy a more efficient sub so half that power would give u the same result with better quality. Read more about the subject before u talk about it, what i'm saying is fact, for my taste i prefer something over the 90's db 1w/1m

From Wikipedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudspeaker#Efficiency

It should be noted that a higher power driver will not necessarily be louder than a lower power one. For example a speaker that is 3 dB more efficient than another will produce double the SPL (or loudness) for the same power than the other. Thus a 100W speaker (A) rated at 92 dB/(W.m) efficiency will be double as loud as a 200W speaker (B) rated at 89 dB/(W.m) when both are driven with 100W of input power. For this particular example, when driven at 100W, speaker A will produce the same SPL or loudness that speaker B would produce with 200W input. Thus a 3 dB increase in efficiency of the speaker means that it will need half the power to achieve a given SPL, and this translates into a smaller power amplifier and some cost savings.

And you're running what now?

that 93db sensitivity has gotta kill your ears

oh he's a keeper...

lets buy a speaker based on efficiency //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i tell you something my old XXX didnt get loud, i think i was because of how inefficient it was :end of sarcasim:

and you guys know we have to believe him cause his subs are ultra excursion and have the fatt surround(not to be mistake with the PHAT surround, duh) do i really want to believe that spl number on that sub?

i dont know what spl an MT is but its loud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

U sound like an idiot man, come on, i'm sure u went to the web site where i got my subs and saw the same specs, but u still put that crap on here about believing me, someone asked me what i'm running and i showed the specs, and about believing the spl, i don't understand about u not believing the spl on those subs, but i'm sure u can contact the manufacturer and debate with him about it, man you're funny, lol

pssst

i can put a butt load of BL, dropp the Q and cut the mms in half

it'l be efficient as hell

but ya know what? It'l struggle to play anything under 65Hz

you cant change 1 thing without changing everything else
