NBA going down hill?

I think baseball will die before basketball does. The economy sucks right now, it shouldn't come as any surprise that entertainment industries will feel the strain. But any event, imo professional athletes (baseball, basketball, football) make way too much money. Pro ball players are like the royalty of the USA these days, which is sad considering how easily we let them skate through their education and end up like Shaq, a ridiculously rich man who can barely speak a legible sentence. He's gotten better over the years, but when I watched them interview after Magic games in his first years, it was painful to listen to the man speak.

agreed 100%

its ridiculous the amount of money they make. if you get paid that much money, you better NEVER miss a shot.

Why do you agree? They make just as much or less than alot of actors. Its all entertainment.
Actors make too much too. Society pumps too much money into a relatively obscure portion of its population. This is bad for the economy in that an unbalanced amount of money goes to a relatively small percentage of people. And the revenue they generate, the age-old argument that they should make that amount of money, does not contribute to anything other than entertainment and over priced luxuries like $120 basketball shoes that are unnecssary, and in most cases not used for their purpose.

I apologize because I didnt read the whole thing, but yes athletes are overpaid, imo. But on the same note if they are making that kinda money imagine what the owners that pay them are making.

My statement is 100% fact. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Agreed, the whole system is bloated. There's a reason you cant go to a game without spending like $100 a person for the night. And sports like basketball who have approximately 90 games in the regular season and their arenas seat tens of thousands... mind boggling. Not to mention the endorsements.
