i agree, parents prob bought him the truck for like $15k and then he put all the money he has made from the last 4 yrs of summer work which would likely be $5k-$10k so i don't understand why no one believes the kid could pay for that, i got mad respect for a kid that works that hard cuz i kno alotta kids who dont do shi.t and they always ask their parents for moneyI say mommy and daddy gave him the navigator and he put the money he had into it.
and im a 17yr that works at a stereo shop installing and working sales and i make more than that, so that's believable toowhat the hell shop in odessa pays 12 bucks an hour for a 17yr old installer? shops here in a big city don't even pay that most of the time.
on the topic of credit being a mystery, no it isn't it's called reading. credit is a basic system that is easy to understand if you want to. on the topic of house loans, i myself am building a house on a 3/4 acre piece of land next year. b/c i'm custom building the house vs. buying one of the already built one's in the neighborhood it's costing me less and the loan will be less as well so always good.
i live in pennsylvania and i can smell that bullshit up herei make $12 an hour, plus commission on labor as an installer (systems, alarms, GPS, etc.)
my last pay check for 1 week was ~$1300
and i'm 17

48 hours a week (mon-sat 9-6 with a 1 hour lunch break)that must of been hell of a commission cause you would've had to of work 108 hours to make $1300, and that would be gross not take home
I think most of the hate is coming from those that never really worked hard as a kid. That vehicle had a single fiberglass wrap around that cost him maybe $1-1.5K for the box painted. The subs, hell everyone has heard of eBay... $2.00 each for L7's might as well be. The whole system is nowhere near unattainable by an 18yo kid that works hard and saves his money for one big splurge. I did it and I made extremely good money with a lawn care service when I turned 16. In Alabama you could have a company at age 16 and I was knocking down $1500 per week part time after school after about 3 months of selling my services. The next 3 months I had an employee that my parents helped me with the taxes on....I paid him $450/wk and he was 3 times my age. He made the company a full time, all day affair. I made more sales to keep him busy and he generated another $1000 per week for me. That means at ages 16-17, in 1993, I was putting $2500.00 in the bank per week on average for July, August, September and part of October. With a slowed down October and November and Dad's help, we got lawn care pesticides and fertilizers together and sold those for the fall/winter/early spring seasons. Jerry, my employee was still full time and I then worked NONE, other than sales. I was still making roughly $1200/wk average for about 4 hours worth of work.
To make a boring story short, this kid could very well have the aptitude to make something of himself with a little hard work and you guys are calling BS without having any proof. I simply think it's based on your own thoughts of yourself or your own actions or lack of action at that age. Hell, my older brother at age 22 was knocking down bank of $200-225k laying tile and hardwood flooring. Now he makes closer to $300k and doesn't lay a single piece...and maintains sales and payrole/taxes with about 10 hours per week worth of work. Kids can make $1500/wk if they look hard and work hard.
