so i have my one diamond d6 in my 06 civic sedan running off a zx1500.1 on about half gain and its pretty loud. it is just murdering my third brake light in the rear and its hitting my rear winshield. i went and got some carpet padding and stuffed it in every hole i could see on the trunk lid and below the rear deck. the bad part is this sub is just temporary until i get my AQ hdc312 back. i will be running the kicker almost double as much the power as i am running now and the AQ is way louder than the d6. whats the best way of eliminating the horrid deck rattle?

How do you figure you'll get twice the power from that amp? Or are you switching amps?

I had to take out my third brake light lol...that thing slapped against the back window like a mother****er...
is that a Legend in your sig? My rear brake light did the same in mine lol

to the OP yes sound deadening will help you alot

the third light is built it in to the rear deck so i cant just take it off

i was thinking about maybe shoving a towel between the light and the rear windshield?

and the amp is at half gain and once i get my AQ i will turn it almost full tilt

when i messed around with the dmm where i need to set the amps gain is more than where it is set now but i dont want this to turn into a you dont know how to set your amp properly thread

i just need to stop the horrible rattle thats all

i know this thread is somewhat old but i got a 06 civic sedan and had the same problem.......

go to home depot and get weather stripping and put it along the edges of the rear deck panel and ontop of the third brake light ; )

Not to mention it's against the law and you could be pulled over and fined. Every car since about 1982 has to have the 3rd brake light.
