Narrowed my decision down to 2 HUs

Its time to upgrade my x890 which has been amazing and still works like new, but my birthday is coming up and I am getting a new radio.

My choises came to either the x991 or the XXV-01D. The XXV-01D I can get locally, while the x991 I will have to order it in the states (I live in Chile...).

Is the price of the XXV-01D worth it? Are there any big differences between the 2? I know the x991 is newer, but is it that much better? Should I go through with the trouble of importing one, or just get the XXV-01D?

imho those excelon decks 889,890,891,990 and so forth are pretty much the same and i believe the next 1 in line is too close to the others, maybe upgrade your frontstage?why get a new hu when yours works great unless you are just itching to burn some money

I already have a good front stage, rainbow germaniums powered up by a diamond audio d7152 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif the x890 is missing the time alignment, which is probably my #1 reason to change.

i noticed you were looking at the 25th anny version ,i dont think it has real ta either but the x991 does

991 has digital time alignment,parametric eq,srs wow,usb,internal memory,killer color graphics
now i think the t/a is 6 channel not sure?but all the high end excelons have all the other stuff except internal memory which is only 512mb's ,who cares about the graphics, all i'm saying is that going from a x890 to a x991 is not a big upgrade and will prolly sound the same

The 991 has a 5ch t/a I believe.

PD: does anyone know if nationalaudiocenter.com is reliable? I am thinking maybe paying an extra $50 and go with woofersetc to be safe. Or are there any kenwood dealers on the forums?

nationalaudiocenter has a million sales and 99 percent feedback so i think its all good

put it this way my buddy has got a 891,and the 991 is totally different, the 991 is kenwoods flagship deck,sq is excellent.
totally different in what way?they sound different because you and your buddy wanted the 991 to sound better,i dont care if it's the flagship when only a couple of things have changed,i guarantee in a blind test you could not tell the difference

No worries there, I had the same line of thought and I almost bough from indo but then I searched around and saw that they simply ****.

I think I'll just shell out an extra $50 to get the radio through woofersetc or onlinecarstereo.
