Anyone using either of these saws? I'm leaning towards the Delta due to the T2fence system...it felt very solid at the store compared to the Craftsman fence. But the craftsman fence might of just been put together poorly for the display.

Delta is $550 local with the fence

Craftsman is $700

i think either will work but looking for a users opinion

I would go for the Sears unit - they have much better rip fences on their units. I was at Home Depot the other day and they had a real nice unit they were blowing out. Not sure if US-based Home Depots are having sales, but I was salivating over it. Can't recall the brand but it was going for $599 and had a nice fence on it.

Might be worth a look.

they had another craftsman with a nice beismeyer fence on it....but its $1200 bucks...a tad more than i'm wanting to spend. The Delta fence system just seemed so solid

Yeah, but cheesy steel wings? You need bulk when your ripping those big pieces. Go with the Craftsman, at least you know they will be there for any repair work or accessories you may need later on.

**** you....i was pretty set on the Delta

I would go with the Delta based on my experience with both brands. I'm a stone mason, we use chop boxes w/ diamond tip blades to cut our stone down to the correct length or width for the application.. we've used everything from Ryobi, Ridgid, Bosch, Delta, Craftsman, Dewalt, Milwaukee, to no name junk.. and the Delta's out perform all of them in terms of longevity and strength. Delta FTW!

Sorry. I like heavy tables. I have a King, which is certainly far from the best (fence sucks), but for the small size you can't lift it yourself. Excellent for ripping 4x8 sheets.
