Hi All,
After reading posts and reviews regarding the CD400, I finally took the plunge. I was at first hesitant because of all the skipping issues, etc. others were reporting, but just decided to take a risk.
The unit was manufactured in Malaysia on 2/2004. I installed it in my MBZ and it works flawlessly. It doesn't skip nor mistrack at any speed or road condition considering my car is lowered and damped with Bilstein sports. It seems to work great in both cold and hot conditions as well even if the manual warned 'bout temperature extremes. It matches very well with 4" naks up front and plates (5" + tweeter) at rear with 200W Soundstream amp (bridged) and 10"-sub (filtered @ 70Hz).
I think installation is the key issue with skipping and I was lucky that my MBZ doesn't have just a plate on the dash with a rectangular hole, but a rectangular tube in which the the outer harness inserts in for stability.
Any comments welcome...
